Microscale robots for smart drug delivery represent a promising technology to enhance the precision and efficiency of treatments. These robots, typically designed at the nano or micro scale, have the ability to navigate within the body towards targeted tissues. They deliver drugs directly to cells or damaged areas, increasing drug concentration at the desired site and reducing unwanted side effects. This paper explores various construction technologies, materials, guidance mechanisms, and clinical applications of microscale robots in drug delivery. Additionally, it discusses current challenges in design and performance, as well as future prospects for advancing this technology.
In the innovations section, advanced technologies such as targeted nanoparticles , nanometric control systems, and optical and magnetic tools are reviewed, enabling precise drug delivery.
